Privacy Policy for EMSC Navigator Chrome Extension
Effective Date: October 1, 2025
Last Updated: October 8, 2025
Overview
EMSC Navigator is a Chrome extension developed by EM Search Consulting, LLC for internal business use by our team members. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our extension.
Information We Collect
Data We Access
- Business Database Access: The extension accesses business client records from our company's Quickbase database for internal workflow purposes
- Client Website Testing Controls: The extension reads and writes a "do not track" preference variable to localStorage exclusively on our own clients' websites where we have authorized access. This temporarily disables our own tracking scripts (installed with client consent via Google Tag Manager) during functionality testing to prevent test data from polluting client GA4 and ad conversion tracking. This only affects websites where we have legitimate access and does not impact any other websites
- Tab URLs: The extension accesses current tab URLs solely to detect Quickbase authentication status
- Session Management: The extension interacts with the current tab for tracking preference management and authentication detection
How We Use Information
- Client Management: Displaying relevant client information and project details
- Business Operations: Facilitating internal team workflows and client service delivery
- User Experience: Maintaining your preferences and session state
Data Sharing and Disclosure
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share, sell, or distribute any data to third parties
- Internal Use Only: All data access is limited to authorized EM Search Consulting team members
- Business Purpose Only: Data is used solely for legitimate business operations and client service
Data Security
- Secure Connections: All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Local Storage: Sensitive data is stored locally in Chrome's secure storage system
- Access Controls: Extension access is limited to authorized company personnel
- No External Servers: No data is transmitted to external servers outside of Quickbase API calls
Data Retention
- Session Data: Authentication and preference data is retained until you log out or clear browser data
- No Persistent Storage: We do not maintain long-term storage of personal or client data outside of Quickbase
- User Control: You can clear all extension data by removing the extension or clearing Chrome storage
Your Rights and Controls
