How EMSC Gathers Your Digital Assets Under Your Ownership
· Strategy · 3 min read
Your digital assets are valuable business assets. Your website, content, advertising accounts, analytics, and historical data represent years of investment, and you should own and control them.
At EMSC, client ownership isn’t something we address when a relationship ends. We build it into how we work from day one.
Digital Ownership Can Get Complicated
As businesses grow, their digital ecosystem grows with them. Websites, domains, analytics, ad accounts, tracking tools, and CRM integrations are often set up by different people and providers at different times.
In some cases, agency contracts also specify that the agency, not the client, owns assets such as the website, content, or advertising accounts. This can create major complications when a business wants to change partners.
The key is knowing what you own, where it lives, and who controls it.
What Should Your Business Own?
It’s more than just your website. Your digital assets include:
- Website: Domain, hosting, CMS, content and media
- Advertising: Google Ads, LSAs, Microsoft Ads, Meta and other paid media
- Analytics & Tracking: Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Search Console and call tracking
- Local & Social: Google Business Profile, social media and directory listings
- CRM & Integrations: ServiceTitan, Jobber and other connected platforms
These assets contain valuable data, history and equity your business has invested in building. The EMSC transition process specifically inventories these properties and determines who currently owns and controls each one.
EMSC Puts You Back in Control
When a client comes to EMSC, we don’t simply ask for a list of passwords and leave them to figure out the rest.
We create an inventory of your digital assets, document ownership and access, identify what needs to be transferred, and assign clear responsibilities and deadlines. Your EMSC Account Manager leads the process from beginning to end.
We Help Untangle the Mess
Sometimes assessing and gaining ownership is straightforward. Sometimes it isn’t.
When necessary, EMSC works directly with current or previous vendors, platform support teams, and other providers to help recover or transfer assets. This includes migrating website files, transferring Google Ads billing profiles, securing ownership of Google Business Profiles, and recovering access to analytics and search data.
You shouldn’t have to become an expert in digital account ownership just to regain control of your own marketing.
When Something Can’t Be Transferred
Sometimes an existing agency simply won’t or can’t, contractually, transfer an asset.
We build a path forward.
For example, if an existing Google Ads account can’t be transferred, EMSC can create a new client-owned account, prepare campaigns and landing pages in advance, and coordinate the transition to minimize disruption. The client retains access and the ability to add or remove EMSC, regardless of your marketing status with us.
The same philosophy applies to websites, analytics, tracking, and other digital properties.
You Own It. We Manage It.
We believe you should work with EMSC because of the strategy, execution, and results we provide, not because leaving would mean losing your digital assets.
We help gather your digital ecosystem under your ownership so you can move forward with control of the data, history, and equity you’ve invested in building.
