EMSC Navigator Chrome Extension
This amendment to our Privacy Policy covers the data practices of the EMSC Navigator Chrome extension (“Extension”) developed by EM Search Consulting, LLC. (“EMSC”).
Information We Collect Through the Extension
The EMSC Navigator extension accesses and processes the following types of information:
- Quickbase Authentication Data: Your Quickbase session tokens and authentication status to enable access to client data
- Client Information: Business client data from your Quickbase database including company names, contact information, project details, and billing information
- User Preferences: Extension settings and preferences stored locally in your browser
- Usage Data: Information about which clients you view and interact with for the purpose of remembering your last selected client
How We Use Extension Data
We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:
- To display client information from your Quickbase database in an organized sidebar interface
- To maintain your authentication session with Quickbase
- To remember your last selected client for improved user experience
- To enable quick access to client products, activities, documents, and billing information
Extension Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage Only: All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s storage API. No data is transmitted to external servers owned or operated by EMSC.
- Quickbase Integration: The extension communicates directly with the EMSC corporate Quickbase instance using your existing authentication.
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share, sell, or transfer your extension data to any third parties
- Secure Communication: All communications with Quickbase use HTTPS encryption
Extension Data Retention
Data is retained locally in your browser until:
- You uninstall the extension
- You clear your browser’s extension data
- You manually reset the extension settings
Your Rights Regarding Extension Data
You have the following rights regarding your extension data:
- Access: You can view all stored data through the extension interface
- Deletion: You can clear all stored data by uninstalling the extension or clearing browser storage
- Control: You can disable tracking features using the “Disable Tracking” option in the extension
Extension Permissions
The extension requests the following permissions:
- sidePanel: To display the extension interface in Chrome’s side panel
- storage: To remember your last selected client and preferences
- scripting & tabs & activeTab: To interact with web pages for the “Disable Tracking” feature
- host_permissions (emsearchconsulting.quickbase.com): To access your Quickbase data
