Hi, I’m Erin, I’m an account manager here at EM Search Consulting and I’m going to talk to you today about landing pages and why they’re important for your digital marketing strategy.

A landing page is where a user lands after clicking on an ad and no it is not your website or at least we don’t recommend it should be. It is a single page with a single purpose and it usually that single purpose is to convert users into a lead. Whether that be an email or a phone call or whatever is most important to your business. It strips out everything that’s nonessential and keeps only what is relevant and important to the user who clicked that ad. For example, if you are a contractor and you offer both home remodeling services and commercial remodeling services, you’re going to want a user who clicks on one of your ads to be brought to the most relevant page.

If you bring them to your website, this is going to provide for a lot of distraction, and there’s a lot of external links, there is a lot of things going on. So, research shows you only have 5 seconds if that to get the attention of the users after they click on an ad. So, we want to make sure on every landing page that you are conveying 3 very important things. Those things include what it is you provide, how it is going to make their life better, and how do they get it.

Having this information above the fold on a landing page makes it very easy for a user to figure out how to get in contact with you, especially for the specific thing that they are looking for.
